My friends Liz and Cyrus were getting married, and they came to me for these white gold wedding bands. Cy is half Tongan, and so we came up with the idea of using tapa cloth patterns from Tonga as the design on the rings. Cy's mom sent us a picture of one of her family's tapa patterns, and I simplified it slightly for the design on the bands. I like the idea that by wearing her ring, it's as though Liz is becoming a member of Cy's tribe.
