Yep, this is actually Judaica--and those runish-looking letters in the circle are actually Hebrew. This is, in fact, a chai (חי). It's depicted here in Second Temple era script. I should go into a whole line of Judaica done like this for all the goth-punk Jewish teenagers out there--I know that I sure would have worn this when I was in high school. And college. And playing in my band after college. And, uh . . .
