The letters on the front of this mezuzah are aleph, bet, and gimel; the first three letters of the Hebrew alphabet. There are three on the opposite side as well, and the adjacent sides each have two letters. The first ten letters of the Hebrew alphabet are often used to represent the Ten Commandments.
