Logan Circle Rings

These geometrically abstract wedding rings have a hidden secret. The couple who commissioned them live in and courted in the Logan Circle area of Washington DC. A fan of cartography, the groom suggested using the traffic circle itself as the design. If you look at the rings from the side, you'll see that the grooves in the ring are aligned with the positions and angles where the roads enter the circle on the map (mostly, anyway--it's hand-made!). The streets/grooves wrap over the tops of the rings and then continue radially on the reverse (instead of attempting to mirror the angles of the roads on the obverse).
